Whistleblowers are as essential as air and water to our democracy, as they bold and bravely open the window to air the problems that plague our society and demand to be addressed.
Meet Co-Founder Whistleblower Summit Marcel Reid
Marcel Reid is a nationally recognized whistleblower advocate, and media reforemer. She also co-founded ACORN8. Reid chaired DC Metro ACORN, overseeing operations across Washington D.C. and Virginia, and was elected to the three-person Interim Committee tasked with restructuring ACORN during a pivotal moment in the organization's history.
Her commitment to integrity and public accountability has earned multiple honors, including the AFCE Cliff Robertson Sentinel Award, recognition from the ACFE, and other awards for courage and public service. Reid later joined the Pacifica Radio Network, serving at every level - from the CPB Local Board and Local Station Board to three terms on the Pacifica National Board. She led the effort that resulted in Pacifica's unanimous vote to support whistleblowers, becoming the first Whistleblower Liaison in national media. Her work ontributed to hundreds of news articles and informed reporting that supported Kathleen Parker's Pulitzer-winning commentary.
A frequent media guest, Reid appeared regularly on Pacifica's Ambrose Lane "We Ourselves", as well as national programs including Glenn Beck and Sharyl Attkinsson's Full Measure and Patrick Lovel's Podcast. Marcel is the current co-host of the TS Radio podcast. Today, she ontinues to champion whistleblowers and strengthen public accountability through the Whistleblower Summit & Film Festival.

Eco-Eletion Pretection activist Harvey "Sunny" Wasserman co-hosts Pacifica Radio's California Solartopia, whose Grammy-winning theme song he co-wrote with Pete Seeger & David Bernz. He did media for the legendary 1979 NO NUKES concerts at Madison Square Garden/Battery Park City, & spoke for Greenpeace USA to 350,000 concert goers at 1994's Woodstock2. Since Ohio 2004, he's helped pioneer America's Election Protection movement.

"Greg Palast is one of those inconventiently stubborn journalists who gets his teeth into a story and shakes it bloody right there in the middle of the parlor, dreadfully inconveniencing the pampered swells of the elite political press, and revolting the serious thinkers who get to go on PBS and moan about the genuine crisis of American political civility. Palast has been on the voter-caging story ever since people like Pasto Whiting got screwed 14 years ago. Palast [has] dropped a bomb into the elections that has left credibility shrapnel all over the democratic process, if anyone cares to look for it." - Charles Pierce, Esquire
